MCV began with a passion for automobiles, racing, and sustainability. The company founders, 4 individuals who each brought a unique set of skills and enthusiasm to a bold goal, were determined to build the first Canadian Supercar designed to compete with the best in the world. At the time we began, the term "Supercar" was new and described cars which combined the latest in material science, aerodynamics, engine performance and chassis design, to bring race-car specifications and performance to the street.
Along our path we built a team which included industry sponsors that had the technological and engineering acumen to help build the prototype, MCV-CH4. The CH4 was first launched at the 1995 Canadian International Auto Show, which created an industry buzz that caused our success to be highlighted in many media outlets such as: the Financial Post; the Wheels section of The Toronto Star; MacLean’s Magazine; Car and Driver and various other publications.
Through the numerous phases of development of the CH4, the team worked with new technologies and partners, some of which evolved into other businesses ventures.
As the business progressed, we continued to support our original ethos, but with a greater interest in the effects our consulting would have on sustainability through renewable energies. During the Ontario governments focus on solar energy, MCV acted as consultants to Centrosolar in many projects while developing relationships with industry and government officials. The focus on renewable energy progressed into the field of hydrogen as a clean fuel, especially for transportation combined with fuel cells. This has resulted in consulting projects related to hydrogen production via electrolysis and its use as a low carbon fuel, along with continued renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
